Project Overview
Statue of a Woman is an editorial fashion story published by Marie Claire Nigeria that celebrates femininity, authenticity, and the quiet strength of women through fashion and visual storytelling. Set against Malibu's dramatic coastline and golden light, the editorial embraces movement, natural beauty, and effortless elegance, allowing each look to feel both timeless and contemporary.
Working alongside photographer Alex Melgosa, Creative Director Katé Smith, and an exceptional creative team, the project focused on creating imagery that felt refined, expressive, and emotionally resonant.
My Role
As the Wardrobe Stylist, I curated and styled each look to support the editorial narrative while complementing the natural landscape and artistic vision of the shoot. Every wardrobe selection was chosen to enhance movement, texture, and silhouette, allowing the clothing to interact organically with the environment and the models' individuality.
The styling emphasized freedom over restriction, selecting contemporary designer pieces that celebrated confidence, grace, and understated luxury while maintaining a cohesive visual story across the editorial.
Styling Direction
The wardrobe centered around fluid silhouettes, elevated tailoring, and modern luxury from designers including:
Ganni
Rejina Pyo
Baruni
Jason Wu Collective
Accessories from Ferezzi completed each look, adding refined statement details without distracting from the editorial's focus on authenticity and natural beauty.
Rather than relying on heavily styled fashion, the wardrobe worked in harmony with minimal makeup, natural hair textures, and Malibu's soft coastal light to create imagery that felt effortless, sophisticated, and genuine.
Creative Collaboration
This editorial was made possible through close collaboration with a talented creative team:
Photography: Alex Melgosa

Models: Deasj Manyhke & Jaela Greene (Storm LA)
Makeup: Nikole Vega

Creative Outcome
Statue of a Woman presents fashion as an extension of identity rather than decoration. Through thoughtful wardrobe styling, the editorial celebrates movement, confidence, individuality, and the beauty of women in their most authentic form.
The resulting imagery demonstrates my approach to editorial styling—building visual narratives through wardrobe, collaborating across creative disciplines, and using fashion to strengthen storytelling while remaining true to the vision of the publication.
